The Sydney Morning Herald’s Kate McClymont (@Kate_McClymont) at the stewards’ inquiry, even though tweeting there is not allowed:
“Andrew Johns has used the phrase ‘I swear on my life’ more times than John Singleton has been married at #MoreJoyous inquiry.”
HAVE you seen this gigantic rubber duck in the news recently?
So have I.
It floated through Darling Harbour to mark the opening of the Sydney Festival and it’s everywhere. International news sites and wires too.
But is an inflatable rubber duck really that newsworthy for all the coverage it’s been receiving? Has the media gone a bit quackers on this one, or is this 15-metre high, bright yellow duck a welcome relief from all the “bad” news out there? Leave your thoughts below.
Still on the duck, I came across an interesting comment on Facebook which got me thinking: is it art? “It’s just wonderful how we take our art so seriously in this country!” the comment read.
Have your say below.
Newsworthy or not, artwork or not, this duck has certainly got people talking, so well done to the publicists working on Sydney Festival this year.
Tweet from the ABC’s Lucy Carter (@lucethoughts):
“According to one long time staffer here, if you’re working in the ABC Newsroom on Christmas ‘you’re either new-ish or Jewish.'”
Merry Christmas, all.
