Bye bye, broadsheet

AFTER 181 years and 54,725 editions, The Sydney Morning Herald is going tabloid.

Tomorrow, the historic newspaper launches its new “compact” format for its weekday editions. The Herald’s weekend edition will remain a broadsheet, for now.

The Australian will be the nation’s last daily broadsheet.

Tweet from the Herald Sun’s Mark Robinson ‏(@Robbo_heraldsun):

“looks like tabloid, feels like a tabloid, reads like a tabloid, folds like a tabloid, world calls them tabloids. But Age calls it compact”
